All youth classes are on Summer Hiatus. Youth Group will meet during Summer for some fun. September 12, classes will start again.
Rite 13 Class: Rite 13 is for those in grades 6th & 7th. This class assists middle schoolers as they take the first steps away from the roles they have played in their families and into some new roles as they begin their journey into adulthood. It includes a liturgical rite of passage around their 13th birthday, celebrating the movement into their spiritual, aw well as physical, journey to an adult acclamation of faith.
J2A Class: This class is the heart of the program--it blends action and contemplation in teaching young people faithful living. To prepare for adulthood, they learn six basic skills: active listening, negotiation, assertion, research & information management, partnership and leadership. Teens learn to apply Biblical and spiritual truths in their own everyday lives. Confirmation follows. Youth in grades 8th & 9th are in this class.
YAC Class: Young Adults who have been confirmed and are in at least 10th grade up until 12th grade are encouraged to explore their faith, theology, questions, their role in the church, and community life.
Confirmation: Confirmation is a two year process including expectation of Christian Formation, Community Service, church worship leadership roles, mentoring, and retreat/camp participation. Before the two year process can begin, the young person needs to have attended church regularly and be involved in the church life. This is so the young person can make the decision to be confirmed with the commitment that this is the next step in their faith journey.
Youth Group: see youth section of this web site for the many exciting programs we have for youth of all ages. Youth 6th - 12th grade are in Youth Group.
